Our Eight Core Values

of

Faith Evangelical Free Church

Our Church Family's Values, Beliefs & Expectations

  1. We value worship. We believe our heavenly Father seeks those who worship in spirit and truth. Thus, we meet regularly to express our love to God in a spirit of joy and reverence. We believe we should always be respectful of our brother and sister's various expressions of worship, while we seek to exalt the Lord in a style relevant to the audience we serve.
  2. We value education. We believe we are to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ and the Bible is the primary means by which God has expressed His timeless instruction, taking precedence over church traditions or human opinion. Thus, we motivate one another to grow in Christ through instruction in Adult Bible Fellowships, Sunday School, small groups and personal study.
  3. We value the lost. We believe all men are created in the image of God and are loved by God as demonstrated by His ultimate sacrifice for all. Thus, we share God's forgiving grace in Jesus Christ by cultivating genuine, sincere friendships with non-Christians in our community and beyond.
  4. We value fellowship. We believe God has created us to live in community with one another and that Christ died not only for the individual believer but also for his bride, the body of Christ. Thus we respect one another as brothers and sisters, each one vital to God's plan, and we believe we are responsible for caring and encouraging one another in His Body.
  5. We value generosity. We believe God is sovereign over all of life and recognize we are to be managers of all the resources God has entrusted to us. Thus, we cheerfully obey the biblical directives on tithing, giving first to this local body as a demonstration of our gratitude and worship.
  6. We value God's property. We believe every gift of God should be treated with respect as a way to demonstrate appreciation for what God has given us. Thus, we keep the church properties in excellent condition as a way to show our reverence for God.
  7. We value the ongoing process of discipleship. We believe true Christianity requires a life-long devotion rather than a one time decision. Thus, we expect church members to be submissive to His Word, accountable to the body, and active in the discipline of prayer, Bible study, and church service.
  8. We value the nurturing of our youth and children. We believe it is our responsibility to prepare the next generation to be committed disciples of Christ and the future leaders of His church. Therefore, we commit ourselves and our resources to help spiritually equip and mentor our younger fellow heirs of Christ's Kingdom.
