Helping
As a church family, we want to respond to the needs of our world with the help and hope of Jesus Christ. We strive to nurture faith in all who seek the Lord for salvation and encourage all believers to grow in the faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ. (John 14:6; II Peter 3:18)
Seekers
We understand that in actuality God seeks out the lost for salvation. We also realize that the Lord wants us to seek the lost the way a shepherd looks for stray sheep, and a woman looks for her lost wedding ring. But we must also exercise patience in the process as a father waits for a wayward son to come to his senses. As a matter of practical fact, we can only know whom the Lord is seeking by observing some quickening of spiritual interest in the heart of an individual. These responsive people are the ones we are calling seekers. (Matthew 28:19-20)
Believers
We want those who have prayed the prayer of faith to know that they are at the starting line of a great adventure with Jesus Christ. As one of our core values states it, "We value the ongoing process of discipleship. We believe true Christianity requires a lifelong devotion rather than a one-time decision. Thus we expect church members to be submissive to His Word, accountable to the body, and active in the discipline of prayer, Bible study, and church service." (Matthew 22:34-40)
Successful Followers
We understand that a follower of Christ is a disciple (literally one under discipline). They are progressively growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Pivotal to our view of obedience is Acts 2:42-47, which states five activities the first disciples were involved in: Fellowship, Worship,Service, Evangelism, and the Study of the apostles' teaching. We believe in order to honor the name of Christ and to become a healthy church, we must encourage our people to grow in each of these areas.
